Retrofit of handling system
An existing magazine feed leading to an injection moulding system was frequently causing production downtime, due to badly-programmed PLC and inadequate error output.
The customer assigned us with the task of analyzing the problem and, if need be, to replace the control unit.
For reasons of availability and the age of the system, we decided to replace the complete control unit. The old S5 control unit was replaced with a modern S7 control system. The PLC program was completely rewritten.
Since start-up, the system has been running without any of the previous problems.
Unexpected downtimes are now a thing of the past.
