Network of S7 controls
A concept for communication between single Siemens S7-300 control units and operating panel was reviewed for a complex processing system.
The controls are new with an optical Profibus network redundant as a ring structure and inter-networked.
An interruption now only initiates an alert while operations continue as normal. Should the Profibus network break down altogether, the individual controls continue to function as an autonomous system and keep operations going.
